Majora Carter
recounts her remarkable journey from penniless student to green pioneer. She founded Sustainable South Bronx in 2001 with the objective to “green the ghetto.” Carter merges urban planning with environmentalism, and raises money and awareness to reduce poverty and environmental hazards in her hometown. She earned the MacArthur Genius Grant for her work with the group in 2005.
